Synthesis and Stability of Dihydronicotinamide Riboside from Nicotinamide Riboside Chloride: Preclinical Findings

Synopsis

NRH, a highly effective synthetic NAD+ precursor, was produced in high yield from nicotinamide riboside chloride (NRCl) using a water-based reduction process under low-oxygen conditions. The method achieved a 55% yield and 96% purity, confirmed through multiple chemical analyses. NRH was more thermally stable than NRCl but degraded quickly in acidic or oxygen-rich environments. Stability improved in nitrogen, at low temperatures, and under basic pH. This scalable process makes large-scale NRH production more practical.

Nicotinamide Riboside-Supplemented Diet Delays Muscle Degeneration in Mice Lacking the NAMPT Gene: Preclinical Findings

SynopsisNAD+ helps enzymes keep energy balanced in cells, and the enzyme NAMPT controls how NAD+ is made. NAD+ is important for healthy muscle, but how it affects muscle growth isn't fully clear. T...

Nicotinamide Riboside Treatment Protects Retinal Cells in Mice: Preclinical Findings

SynopsisGlaucoma often involves death of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs), partly caused by high eye pressure (IOP). But even when IOP is controlled, the disease can still worsen. So, it's important t...
