Nicotinamide Riboside Supports Brain Health and Reduces Inflammation in Alzheimer’s Disease: Preclinical Findings

Synopsis

Nicotinamide riboside (NR), a precursor of NAD+, can improve cognitive function and reduce brain inflammation in Alzheimer's disease (AD) mouse models, even without affecting beta-amyloid plaques. This study explored how NR affects neurons, brain metabolism, and protein networks in the cortex and hippocampus. NR modulated reactive species and influenced key protein pathways involved in energy production, fat metabolism, and neurotransmitter regulation. These effects varied across different brain regions. Overall, the findings suggest that NR can support brain health and potentially modify disease processes in AD by affecting metabolism and protein networks.

Fluorinated NR Enhances NAD+ Depletion in Glioblastoma Therapy: Preclinical Findings

Synopsis Glioblastoma is one of the most aggressive and treatment-resistant brain cancers, partly because its cells rely heavily on NAD+, a molecule vital for energy production and survival. The d...
